Posted on October 22, 2016 by Mike Sonnenberg Posted in Lighthouses, upper peninsula .

whitefish point lighthouse

Rather than bore you with facts about the lighthouse, I figure I would tell you a story about my first trip there back in the mid 90’s. I know it was the mid 90’s because my wife and I had a 92 Ford Explore and an old camper, and were camping in July at Burt

While I was staying at Burt Lake State Park I took Cooper Dog out for a ride one morning. We headed east until we hit Lake Huron and since we could not go east anymore we then turned north along US23 to the 40 Mile Point Lighthouse. That was the first time I have ever

Kitch-iti-kipi

Posted on August 29, 2013 by Mike Sonnenberg Posted in Uncategorized .

The Detroit Free Press had a poll for the 7 wonders of Michigan and I was surprised that Kitch-iti-kipi was not on the list. it’s unbelievable how clear the water is and you can take a raft out into the middle of it and look down into the deep water and see fish swimming around
