Driving around Alma I found this majestic old house, so I stopped and got pic of it. Like many places I find, when I get home, I start googling to see what I can find. This was the home of Ammi Wright and built in the 1880’s. He was a lumber tycoon and one of the founding members of Alma collage and donated some buildings and the land for the collage. It’s sad to see a house like this in a state that it’s in. I be you could not find any craftsmen that can do stone work like that any more.

Downtown St Johns. with the Clinton County courthouse at the end of the street. I walked around for a little bit and I kept hearing music playing and then I realized there were speakers around the outside of the building playing music. I was not able to stay long but St Johns is a nice town with some beautiful old historic homes and buildings.
Just north of Vassar on M15 at the top of the hill sits this old house on the west side of the road, I thought it was a beautiful old house and took a pic of it, when I looked at the back of my camera I noticed a figure in the window above the porch. I looked up a the house and there it was, lets just say it woke me up a little then I realized it was a manikin or something with a sheet draped over it. I have always thought of doing that if I had an old house or building I am happy to see someone else has done it.

I saw this bus in Cheboygan and it got me thinking what would a bus look like if the school let the kids decorate it with the school colors and mascot. I am sure federal law states all school buses have to be yellow but how cool would that be to have a bus painted up to transport the students to away games
if your heading up 23 thru Standish stop at the old depot which is now a welcome center and museum. it has to be the nicest welcome center that I have been to and I have been to a lot in Michigan and other states. They have a couple railroad cars and a caboose that you can walk around in while you are there. I loved the caboose, but that is going to be a pic for another day.
The Detroit Free Press had a poll for the 7 wonders of Michigan and I was surprised that Kitch-iti-kipi was not on the list. it’s unbelievable how clear the water is and you can take a raft out into the middle of it and look down into the deep water and see fish swimming around and best of all it belongs to the `people of Michigan since it’s in the Palms Book State Park. I think the early Native Americans gave it the best name “Mirror Of Heaven”
