Round Island Lighthouse guiding visitors into the harbor at Mackinaw Island. I bet the more people have went past this lighthouse on a boat than any other lighthouse in the country.

Since it’s national Lighthouse Day, this is an image of Point Iroquois Light Station, it was a nasty cold windy rainy autumn day when I was there. When I am out traveling and taking pics, Mother Nature does not always give me the best weather, but I figure the light keepers have to do their job no mater what the conditions are so I can take a few picks in bad weather. This lighthouse is such a large and massive structure, but with the storms coming of Lake Superior it needs to withstand some harsh conditions. Lighthouses are a beacon of hope standing tall and guiding us thru the worst of storms. Michigan has more lighthouses than any other state and I am proud to call Michigan home and if I am anywhere near a lighthouse I always stop and get a pic.

The Tawas lighthouse in the Tawas State Park. I was camping at the park and I wanted a pic of the lighthouse under the stars so while I was out there the rangers told me I was not supposed to be in that section of the park at night but I asked politely and they let me stay. So thank you to the rangers for the pic.
