Salem Michigan is west of Canton, on 6 Mile Road, and there is this beautiful little church with an old cemetery in town. I could not resist taking a photo of it with these beautiful autumn trees. Ater the post office from the nearby town of Summit was moved here in 1876, the town was named after Salem NY, where many of its residents came from and that town was named after an ancient Semitic deity, I am no expert in religion, but this is what Wikipedia says about Salem. The name Salem comes from the Canaanite religion where Salem (or Shalim) is the god of dusk and Shahar is the god of dawn.
